As a child, Luca always had a strong passion for cinema, dreaming of becoming an actor. At the age of 18 he participated to various casting calls and from one of them he gets selected as part of the cast for an important movie. Taking part to the film made him discover the magic of the world behind the camera, falling in love with it. He moves to Rome where he studies directing and screenwriting. With a few euros and some trainees he produces his first movie, getting it projected in the cinemas of his town.
Soon after, he founds a small production company called Filmakeritalia. He realises a series of short films that win several awards and gather the attention of Italy’s Minister of Culture. Few years later, he challenges himself with the production of a very low budget film: “Tienimi Stretto” (Hold me Tight). Contrary to what many of his colleagues tought, worried about the low budget of the movie, he qualifies for the “Film d’Essai” award from the Ministry of Culture, Italian cinema section, reaching the level of great American colossal films (among which “Savages” by Oliver Stone). Soon after he receives distribution and the film is projected in the European Parliament, denouncing every form of organised crime with his project.
Despite the very low budget of the film, the project gathers the attention of some Canadian producers that recognise him with great talent. From that moment on he dedicates himself to writing three scripts, immediately bought from different producers. In the meantime, he realises three series of reality documentaries for SKY, but always keeps a clear objective in his mind: the producing and directing of his own scripts.
In 2019, sure more than ever to be creating impactful projects, he opens a new and more important production company: Dorado Pictures.
2020 would have marked the beginning of the production of three important works written by him. The producers are however forced to move the production forward to the upcoming years due to the unexpected arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic. Without losing his drive and energy, Luca writes a new script set specifically during the Covid pandemic. The production of the film will start in September and will end the subsequent month. In the meantime he writes scripts for two other movies and two TV shows. His motto: ”Only those who never give up make it to the end.”
